I had been happily working on my Twitter profile for the past 39 days when I run into a little stepping stone—Twitter’s 2000 Following Limit.

My goal was to have at least 6,000 followers by the end of year and I was pretty much on track until I run into Twitter’s 2000 Following Limit.

As you know, Twitter is a great way of connecting with likeminded people and is also a great way of generating traffic to your web-site.

But after you are following 2000 people, you will get this message:

But why couldn’t I follow any more people at this time? Well, I could not follow any more people because I had reached Twitter’s 2000 following limit which I didn’t know existed.

You see, after you are following 2000, you will not be able to follow any more people unless your account meets certain criteria.

From this point on, you will only be able to follow an amount equal to the amount of people who is following plus 10%.

For Example, look at my “following to follower” ratio of today:

At the present moment, I’m following 2,134 users and 1,940
are following me.

Let’s do the math:
1940 Followers  X  10%   =   194
1940 Followers  +  194  =   2134

See how I maxed out the amount of people I can follow right
now.

If I try to follow one more person, I would get the message: “You are unable to follow more People at this time.”

So, what do you do if you want to follow more than 2000 people?

You have to increase the numbers of your followers to more than 1800.

But how do you increase the number of followers when you have reached the limit of people you can follow?

Well, you are going to have to un-follow if not all, some of the people who are not following you back.

Let’s try to be fair for a second: What is the point of following somebody who is not following you back?  Unless you think that it’s ok for you to have a one way conversation with that person.

But… If you want to keep building your follower’s list to more than 1800, you are going to have to un-follow some folks whether you like it or not.

You can un-follow non-following users in two ways:

1. The tedious, monotonous, un-productive, boring, stupid, idiotic way… OR
2. The hands off, auto-pilot, quick, fast, easy and FREE way.

How to Massively Unfollow Twitter’s Non Following Users

There is a really cool software that will allow you to un-follow all the users you want in one shot. I’ll be honest with you, it’s not actually free but you can use the Demo version in order to un-follow the users who are not following you back.

Here is how you do it:

1- Download and install the Demo version of Tweet Adder by clicking HERE.
2- Enter Your Account Information and then click on the “Add User” button.
3- Click on the line displaying your username to highlight it and then click on the “Login” button.
4- You will see a box saying that you are using the demo version of the software… Click on the button that says “Continue With Demo.”
5- After your credentials have been verified, click on the “Unfollow” tab.
6- On the left side of the software, you will see the amount of users that you can un-follow.
7- If you don’t see a number, you might have to un-check the option “Only UnFollow users that were followed by using TweetAdder.”
8- If there is somebody that you don’t not want to un-follow no matter what, you can click on the button “Edit Safelist” and select the user you don’t want to un-follow.
9- In the box “Unfollow User’s who aren’t Following You Back” enter the number of user you want to un-follow.
10- Enter the same number in the setting “Maximum # to Unfollow per day:”
11- Click on the “Start” button in the “Unfollow Users who aren’t Following You Back.”
12- Sit down, relax and just watch how the software takes care of you. Good or Good?

You are now ready to start following more people to ultimately increase the number of your followers.
